The Hovinen experiment isn't looking too hot right now, thankfully it's still early though.

Good morning and Happy Hanukkah to those celebrating it.

If the lockout is still ongoing after the holidays ill probably just follow the phantoms. Can't get a grasp in the euro leagues despite your great coverage, Bill. hopefully there is an NHL season soon.

Yet another game where Brayden Schenn was involved in every goal the Phantoms scored.

If there's an NHL season he will hit the ice with confidence.

Schenn - Me think he is a future all star or type of player just a notch below. 20 - 30 goals, annoying to play against, high energy, big hits, etc.

Go Phils

Happy Holidays to our Jewish friends

Lot of European goalies struggle when the first come to the smaller ice. I remember there were some that expected him to challenge for the Flyers back-up job.

He could end up being a player very similar to Mike Richards.

20 goals, 60-70 points every year, physical play, hard worker, pain in the balls to play against....it'd be a great thing.

Yeah, this guy sucks.

I think this is probably right, but you can't help but wonder about the make up of the Phantoms roster.

Take away those players that were already going to be on the Flyers' opening night roster and I don't think any Flyers fan can be comfortable with the talent level they currently have at the AHL level.

I'm a lot more worried about organizational depth than AHL depth.

The Flyers have some solid prospects, but they're certainly not in the top ten in terms of quality league wide. Of course, far more important is the fact that the Flyers will have a ton of excellent young talent in the lineup whenever they take the ice next.

These guys are all currently 25 years of age, or younger: Claude Giroux, Brayden Schenn, Sean Couturier, Wayne Simmonds, Jakub Voracek and Luke Schenn. That's not a bad nucleus moving forward. Adding the guys between 25-30 gives you Scott Hartnell, Matt Read, Max Talbot, Braydon Coburn, Nicklas Grossmann & Andrej Meszaros.

That's ignoring several young guys yet to make much of an impact at the NHL level such as MA Bourdon, Erik Gustafsson, Harry Zolnierczyk Eric Wellwood and Brandon Manning.

As Butsy said, I love the return for Richards, hate that they traded him.
